Google has made the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich official and the new flavor that has been added to the Big G’s menu is supposed to the most powerful Android version. The ICS ids unifying platform designed for both smartphones and tablets operating system. Previously Gingerbread was the smartphone platform and honey comb was the tablet platform.
Well as it is official now, lets have a look what is in the bag. The new version has massive improvements from the predecessors. According to Google, Android tag line is “Enchant me, Simplify My Life, and Make Me Awesome.” The minor improvements include the better data logging, copy and pasting and warnings. Screen shots of the running app can be taken so easily now by just pressing power and holding volume down button. The image automatically appears in the gallery of you device and you can use for any other purpose afterwards.
Dictionary has been added in the texting of the Android along with the new keyboard with full features. The underlined area or the selected line is automatically suggested to be replaced with other appropriate possible words. Errors are easily be removed from the text and you can use other appropriate words. This is very useful for all those who have to write something formal.
A brand new type face is also introduced which basically is the easy-to read font named as Roboto. This font specifically is very cool wit the high resolution displays. Virtual buttons are added which simply rules out any other option of physical buttons on the device.
The three virtual buttons also get vanished when you need to play a game or watch a movie. The folder options have been revolutionized like you can simply add a new folder by moving the existing folder in a typical way.
Instant Voice is the main feature and is a good one too. You can dictate your device any thing for as long as you can and the text keeps on becoming visible on the screen. Later on you can also check the possible suggestions that are provided to you by the operating system’s preinstalled dictionary.
Multitasking has been made simpler in this Ice Cream Sandwich. It has easy access to those apps which you have been using recently and when you are done you are just a flick away to close the app.
One of the ravishing features so far is that you can have “Face Unlock” in which you get your device unlocked after it has detected your face. This is so cool and this is not it. You can have access to different apps through the call screen like camera etc.
Home screen folders are also there in the Ice Cream Sandwich and if you drag the different icons on the top of one another you can group apps and shortcuts together. Notification which controls your nitification from the social networks and emails has been improved.
You can access them by going to the system bar. Widgets in the ICS are also resizable and more interactive which enables you to flick through appointments, play music and more.
The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been released in the market with the Samsung Nexus Prime smartphone, the first handset to run the device on it.
